There are many precautions one must take when welding. Having the right fabrication tools is one way to ensure a safe welding environment. TIG welding involves setting up your torch to a welding machine that provides a constant supply of current and an external gas supply. Make sure you always handle gas cylinders with extreme caution, as they are difficult to maneuver, and extremely dangerous if used incorrectly! Here are a few tips for handling gas cylinders.

• Never carry, drag or roll the cylinders. The proper way to move a gas cylinder is by securing it on a cart.
• Always make sure the cylinders metal cap is on, before moving the cylinder. This will ensure the safety of the valve stem assembly.
• To avoid excessive wear attached regulators and hoses using a cylinder wrench.
• Never weld on a cylinder, or bring it in direct contact with the welding flame, direct sunlight or water.
• Always clean the cylinder and the cylinder valve before you attach a regulator.
